Movie Poster by Vincent Maula

6:38 AM Unknown 0 Comments

In this movie poster project, I chose to remake the Up movie poster. Throughout the whole process, I thought that it was not too challenging. The hardest part was getting pictures of people. Each person had to be a new layer. The easiest part was putting people in and creating the background. When creating a balloon you first had to get a picture of someone, preferably their face. Next you use the circle marquee tool to select their face. Copy it and then paste it into the actual movie poster. Finally you adjust the size and move it where you want it. With the school, I had to go outside and take a photo. The photo was taken at the parking lot.

How to video

This is my how to video of how to make a colouring book I  used over the shoulder to show what she is drawing I used a lot of zoom in and out because I wanted them to see what she is doing and so that they can see what they need to focus on. I also made the speed faster

I lost my USB which had some of the better clips in it so I had to settle with some really shaky footage): I also have really shaky hands, I could be just holding a pencil and my hand would shake uncontrollably. I could have made this video really boMB but I decided to use movie maker so I could work on it at home, SO NOW I HAVE SOME REALLY GOOD, HIGH QUALITY TEXT AND SOME RANDOM BOARDERS I CAN'T SEEM TO GET RID OF. If I were to change things up in this video, I would. I would have added more footage to make this video slightly better but that's kind of hard if you have a time limit. Anyways please bare with me, I know my video is lame and cringey but Ana isn't!! I'm kidding she's lame too. But I enjoyed making this and I hope you equally enjoy watching this.

For this project, we had to make a commercial about an object we use in our everyday lives that is EXACTLY 30 seconds long with a voice over. For my commercial, I decided to make it about a hairbrush. I used all sorts of shots such as medium shot, close up, and POV shot.

Letters and Numbers Slide Deck Instructions

4:31 PM Mr. H 0 Comments

Here are the instructions for your Letters and number assignment.

  1. Have a post with the snapwidget showing all letters and digits manmade and raw.
  2. Have a slide deck with the letters one per sheet (there should be 4 rows of 7)
  3. One slide has a picture of each letter so it is a total Alphabet.  Please leave the first and last letter blank.  Then move the first row and last row to center properly on the page.
  4. Title the post Letters and Numbers Slide Deck
  5. Label the post letters & numbers, Harbeck, cropping
The more  you do the better your mark.  Minimum in this slide deck is 40 sides.  Make sure to have everything you need.  See me if you do not understand.

Batch Converting

In Irfanview please batch convert your square cropped images to 3 by 3 inch squares.  Up the DPI to 300.

The library computers all have Irfanview that works.  Batch converting them is an important step in making good slides for this presentation.

Emily and Eunice's Stop Motion

7:22 PM Eunice 0 Comments

For our stop motion, we decided to make it out of candy in multiple ways. We used a variety of candy such as Mn&Ms, Skittles, and rainbow strip candy. We came to the conclusion that we were going to have an old retro game that was the first video game made, then the game puck would fall out of frame and into a pile of coloured candy, the candy would then separate once it was hit with the game piece. The group of candy then would open up and reveal a happy stickman made from candy. the stickman would then dance and would meet up with a dark, sad stickman made from led of a pencil. The sad stickman and the happy stickman became friends and the happy stickman touches the sad stickman and the sad stickman becomes a candy stickman too, they then danced off into the sunset.

For my how to video, I made toast. The shots I took were point of view, same frame game, and medium close up. I couldn't use the other shots because only particular shots fit my video. For the same frame game, I put the plate on the middle of the frame and the ingredients around it. For point of view, I put the bread in the oven toaster. For medium close up, I showed the final product.

For the month of December (during the winter break) we were assigned an assignment. For this assignment, we were assigned to take pictures of all of the letters in the alphabet in both man made and raw made. This winter break we had to do the alphabet challenge as an assignment. In this assignment we had to find natural letters that is around in our everyday life and man made letters too. I found it quite fun to do and an actually challenge to find all the letters especially "Q". I struggled with some letters but this assignment has made me look what is around me and see thing i would have just dismissed.

In this assignment we took pictures of manmade letters or letters that aren't supposed to be a letter but looks like one. We took pictures of things that we see in a daily basis that we don't really look at until we actually take our time.

How to Bump A Volleyball By Sophia Sosa

I used the Close Up, Medium Shot, POV, and Long Shot. I had a hard time filming a POV shot because when we were filming, the camera was covering the person's face/eyes and they couldn't see the ball coming, and a few times I had a hard time making sure it reached one minute. Other than that, it was okay throughout the whole thing.

How to Tie Your Shoelaces by Lorniza

For my How To video, I did how to Tie your Shoelaces. I used different kinds of shots such as, Wide shot, medium shot, cut in, close up, and POV shot. This was a fun creative project to do that was harder than it looked since you had to squeeze everything in maximum of 66 seconds. On the other hand, it was fun playing around with video editing.

This is only for Harbeck's eyes,,,,,,,,,, please respect that,,,,,, the video is very cringy and sped up,,,,, I'd rather save you from the cringe and save myself from absolute embarrassment. Thanks.

I will now proceed to stab myself 10 times for how absolutely horrible this video is. Save yourself and let only Harbeck watch this. I need marks and I'm desperate so if you do watch it, you might want to kill yourself for how cringe it is. But don't say I didn't warn you.
You did that to yourself.

I hate everyone who is is either reading this or watching the video. Why must you torture me this way, soon enough I'll die of crippling depression why are you doing this, it's only for marks.

You know I'm gonna end up deleting this later right? Or maybe just redo it so it's not so sped up and stupid.

How to Video

For my how-to video, I used extreme close-ups and close up for most of my scenes. I sometimes used the medium shot--and when I could, I used the POV shot. I wished that I had a solid concept before I started filming; perhaps I should have thought my storyboard through and followed it. I think that preparation would've helped me see what type of shots I was using and if I was using one particular shot too much. Other than that, I was satisfied with the result of my first video project.

Vince and Andre's stop motion

For this project we were told to create our own stop motion videos, within this project i learned that to make a longer and smoother stop motion video, you have to move the figures centimeter by centimeter and take multiple shots as well. i also learned how hard and time consuming producing a stop motion animation is, because if you accidentally move the object your taking pictures of too far it come out really noticeable. Although all in all i enjoyed making a stop motion video, i think the experience from this will help me with future projects.
